I love working with beautiful wood, especially the challenge of working on a small intricate piece. My favourite part of the process is the finishing touch of oiling the wood and then taking it out into the sun to look at. Something magical happens when oil touches wood! The grain's features (the little shiny flecks, the swirls and the deep, rich colours) are enhanced immensely.

Woodwork is a fairly recent hobby of mine. My first experiences were in my early years at High School. Later on, I continued to use a relative's workshop to progress to harder, more intricate projects with more interesting wood.

Most of my projects to date have been created using a scrollsaw. Pyrography and intarsia are things I want to try next.
